PG vs. VG Ratio
The base of any e-liquid is comprised of PG (Propylene Glycol) and VG (Vegetable Glycol). The ratio of PG to VG is often exhibited on bottles. E-liquid with a higher PG content will typically have a more powerful throat hit. PG also vaporizes at a little bit of lower temperature and is considered by many to deliver more flavor. Any liquid with a higher VG content is smoother and produces much less of a throat hit. Also, it produces more vapor making large clouds which can be fun. Nicotine Percentage or Strength The nicotine content also affects the throat hit as discussed earlier. The higher the nicotine content, the more powerful the throat hit. The most commonly available strengths are 0mg, 3mg, 6mg, 12mg, and 18 mg. A single traditional cigarette contains somewhere from 8mg-20mg nicotine but your body only absorbs about 1 mg of that. The amounts of nicotine you get while vaping greatly depends on how much vapor your device is producing. As a general rule, the smaller the device, the less vapor is going to be produced. The Right Flavor There are hundreds if not thousands of different flavors available. Mint, sweet, tobacco, and fruit are some of the handpicked flavors by many people.
